Have you ever experienced the ‘Northern Lights’? Its nearly impossible to see the aurora during the summer. With 20+ hours of light, the sky just doesn’t get dark enough. That is why I’m posting some pictures of the Aurora… because I miss watching them! Viewing of the Northern Lights happens best between September – April. For those who travel to Alaska in the summer, they never get to experience the northern lights! Fairbanks is a popular tourist destination in the winter because of the the northern lights. There are many Bed & Breakfast’s that get a large number of visitors in the winter for this reason. Below are just a few of the amazing scenes the aurora brings to Alaskans every Fall/Winter.
