The longest day of the year is fast approaching! The midnight sun is an experience everyone should have once in their lifetime. Those who grew up in the Lower 48 don’t know what its like to have light all night long. Even in Anchorage, the sun sets around 11:50pm on its longest day, but the fact that the sun comes back up around 4:10am doesn’t allow it to get dark at all. Its light enough that you could go hiking in the wilderness, fishing on a river or bike riding without a headlamp.
